Island Volunteer Caregivers assist during pandemic

WUB alt textIsland Volunteer Caregivers (IVC) has been serving Bainbridge Island for almost 25 years, providing transportation, in-home services, and life-enriching activities for the homebound – all free of charge. IVC promotes the health, well-being, dignity and independence of the elderly, disabled and those in need by providing one-on-one relationships with trusted volunteers from our community.

As we are all aware, during this time when large scale fundraising events are not feasible, Island nonprofits have been struggling to continue supporting the services they provide. But IVC has come up with a creative approach: from June 1-6 they will be holding a week-long online event entitled YOU are the HEART of IVC, raising funds for the essential services they provide.

Listen here as Robin Gaphni, Rita Elsberry, and Lynn Murphy tell us about the work of IVC and how you can help.  To join their corps of over 200 volunteers, or to donate to YOU are the HEART of IVC, visit ivcbainbridge.org.
