The Bainbridge Island Bargain Boutique

The Bainbridge Island Bargain Boutique

Judy Lindsley of the Seattle Children’s Hospital Bainbridge Island Bargain Boutique joins us in this edition of What’s Up Bainbridge to discuss the importance of this Island institution.

She provides an historical overview of the organization, the mission and the important services it provides to many children in the region by raising funds and community awareness.

In 1991 the retail stores were all brought together to form the Retail Division. Today there are 5 Thrift Stores, now called Bargain Boutiques: Redmond, Kent, Olympia, Bainbridge Island, and Tricities.

The Bainbridge Island Bargain Boutique opened in 1968 by the Lenore Ostrander Guild, and opened with both donated and consigned goods. This guild went Emeritus after 30 years in 1997. In September of 2010 the store moved to Winslow Way West and moved to its current location at 1050 Hildebrand Ln in July of 2020.
