Meet Steve Leveen in this episode of What’s Up Bainbridge.  A fierce champion of bilingualism in America, he is the author of the recently published America’s Bilingual Century, his third book which serves as a call to action to Americans to advance to a country where a majority knows English and another language.  He maintains that “English is what unites us; our other languages are what strengthen and define us.”

He shares his own experience of learning a second language as an adult, commenting on the rich value of multilingual living and the many advantages and joys one can experience.  He discusses the myths associated with learning a second language and especially the one dealing with thinking that it is too difficult to do so as you get older.
