Pickleball, the fastest growing sport in the country, is a mix of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. Tournaments have been held all over the world, but on August 22 pickleball will return to Bainbridge for its first ever Founders Tournament.

Sponsored by the Bainbridge Island Historical Museum, the Bainbridge Island Founders Tournament will be held over three days, August 22nd through 25th.  Listen here as Executive Director Brianna Kosowitz and board Vice President Dave Williams talk about the local origins of the game, what to expect at the tournament, and what the museum is doing to celebrate this great occasion.

Don’t play?  There will be a beginner’s clinic, or come anyway and watch and cheer on players. Celebrate the summer of ’65, when it all started, by listening to tunes from that year and visiting food trucks and watching players from all over the country.  All games will be played on the High School tennis courts.
